A former holder of a Young Writer of the Year award, Charlie Mawer is now hoping to put in a reasonable challenge for the middle aged title. In between dreaming up synchronised swimming hippos, and rapping football commentators, he has been putting together a slim volume of poetry inspired by his most recent creative achievements - Kit and Jem.
